Wedding gowns can be any color, including black. Sheer or fluffy, short or long with a train; all these and more describe 2011′s designs. Diamonds are back in hair accessories and one style that’s making a huge comeback is the diamond-studded tiara or crown.
As for the dress, there are new styles that haven’t been seen in some time; for instance, polka dots. Tiny white polka dots on sheer material are not only elegant, but feminine and stylish. The dots can give the dress a fashionista gone gingham-girl appearance. Christos has designed the perfect polka dot dress for 2011.
Vera Wang has this year dressed in a mermaid-like design. The dress is strapless with a tight neckline and a waist that’s smooth down to just above the knee, where it flares for an ultra-flattering silhouette. Judd Waddell has come up with a single oversize bloom on the bodice of the gown. The waistline falls into a graceful gown that flows around the bride as she moves.
Billowy, full skirts are really in style now, too. The gown Rivini designed for 2011 has a strapless ball gown style that’s always beautiful. The cloud-like tulle billows make it appear more billowy while keeping it light.
Marchesa has gone all out for 2011 with a ruffled look that actually helps to make any waistline seem tiny, and a small bust will look great with emphasis on the top layer.
This year’s design from Monique Lhuillier has a key-hole neckline that shows off just a touch of cleavage. It shows the chest while being classy, pretty and not sleazy.
For many, the preferred style is formal separates. For the transition from ceremony to reception and then honeymoon, the bride can simply change the skirt or the top and have an entirely new look. Be sure to look at all the gowns and don’t forget to wear diamonds in your hair. Get the tiara or crown, or get diamond-studded pins to place here and there.
