When To Wear A Tie If You Hate Ties

Most of us have a tie or two for special occasions. We wear ties so infrequently that we don’t know how to properly tie one, so we leave it partially started on a rack and tie it when needed. If you chose the right line of work, then you don’t have to wear a tie on a daily basis. Avoiding private school, boarding school and the military are other sure ways to avoid tie wearing. Still, there are times when even the best tie evaders should be wearing a tie. But yourself at least two ties and keep them in the closet for these special occasions.

1.) Weddings- You don’t want to be the only guy at a wedding who isn’t wearing a tie. Any guy ho has been that guy will tell you the same thing. It’s best to proceed with caution at wedding and that means a nice shirt and pants combination, a nice pair of shoes and of course, a tie. You’ll be able to count on one hand the guys at a wedding who are not wearing a tie and whether they like it or not, they stand out in a crowd. With weddings, it’s just better to be safe than sorry.

2.)Graduations- These are always formal occasions whether your brother is graduating 8th grade or you are attending your son’s high school graduation. Generally a darker tie like black or blue is the best fit for the occasion, unless the school has an affinity for red. You are bound to know someone who will graduate from something at some point so get yourself a tie and be ready when the moment arrives.
